From the President
I invite you to visit Baptist Seminary of Kentucky. You may have discovered that you get to know folks better when you put your feet under their table. A meal offers opportunity for conversation, connecting, and, of course, good food.
Along a similar line, you can get to know BSK better when you put your feet under our table. So come visit us. When you do, let me give you an idea of how your visit might go.
If you come on a Monday, you will see most of our students and many of our professors. Block scheduling allows students to take Monday morning, afternoon, and evening classes for a semester’s full load or to take evening classes on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays, or various combinations that best meet a student’s needs.
You can literally put your feet under a table in a classroom. You would sit side by side with a student or a professor in an interactive learning environment.
You will experience the bond of shared learning. We have professor-scholars whose expertise in their fields of study is evident. They are really good at what they do. They create an environment in which students and faculty members interact, dialog, and learn together. You will discover that seminary education is more than information; it also involves formation.
If you are at BSK on a Monday when we have chapel (5-6 chapels per semester), you will experience the warmth of the presence of God in a thoughtfully planned order of worship with student and faculty leadership. And from time to time – an opportunity to participate in Communion at the Lord’s Table.
On chapel Mondays you may join us for our fellowship meal, when we gather to enjoy a great meal in the company of students and friends. You will sense the community that exists among the students, faculty, and staff.
I am sure that a visit to Baptist Seminary of Kentucky will leave you with a good feeling about your support of the Seminary.
We love to see old friends and to make new friends. So, come, put your feet under our table and see how head, heart, and hands go together in preparing our students for life and ministry.
